Fortescue’s Autonomous Fleet Solutions (AFS) team delivers world-leading autonomy, electrification, and fleet management technology to enable safe and sustainable mining operations.
We are seeking a Product Owner to drive the delivery of the HaulX product suite across staffed and Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS), including Battery Electric Fleets. You will define and prioritise product features, partnering with stakeholders across operations and technology to deliver outcomes aligned with business and operational priorities.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring product delivery supports Fortescue’s autonomy strategy, operational milestones, and user needs across complex mining environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and prioritise the product backlog to deliver features that provide clear business and operational value
- Define product themes, epics, and user stories with measurable acceptance criteria
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, end users, and development teams
- Translate operational and business requirements into clear, actionable delivery outcomes
- Support the full product lifecycle, including release planning, documentation, communication, and adoption
- Capture operational and end-user feedback to drive continuous product improvement
- Influence and negotiate priorities across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure product artefacts, documentation, and release materials are well governed and accessible
- Support safe, high-quality delivery aligned with operational readiness requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong experience working with fleet management systems within Tier 1 mining operations and/or autonomous mining environments
- Solid understanding of mining production principles and fleet control drivers
- Proven ability to translate business needs into clear delivery requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with accountability for outcomes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills
- Desirable experience as a Product Owner or similar role, including use of tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Desirable exposure to autonomous systems, battery electric fleets, or product lifecycle delivery
