Project Engineer - Green Metals

Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday

 

Support the delivery of Fortescue's Green Metals and decarbonisation initiatives through engineering studies, pilot projects and technology development programmes. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to project planning, engineering coordination and stakeholder engagement across the Research & Development portfolio, helping advance innovative technologies that support Fortescue's long-term green energy and green metals strategy.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of Green Metals and technology development projects from concept studies through execution planning
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams, consultants and technology partners
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, reporting and the tracking of milestones, actions and key risks
  • Contribute to engineering studies, technology assessments and the development of technical documentation
  • Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, HAZIDs and risk assessments
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Research & Development, Engineering, Operations and Project Development
  • Support project governance, stage-gate processes and compliance with Fortescue standards and safety requirements
  • Prepare project reports, presentations and maintain accurate project documentation and records
  • Monitor project progress and provide timely updates to project leadership
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across project delivery.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7-10 years industry experience
  • Experience in project engineering within mining, minerals processing, energy, heavy industry or technology development
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects across study or project delivery phases
  • Understanding of engineering studies, project development and capital project delivery
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • Knowledge of project governance, risk management and engineering management principles
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, project reports and engineering deliverables
  • Commitment to safe work practices and collaborative team environments.
