Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The HME Delivery team, responsible for the XCMG relationship and delivery program, has an opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to join the team.
The primary focus of this role is to provide project management services to support delivery of integrated, operable, and maintainable, zero emissions HME solutions, including battery electric ancillary and haul truck equipment. Elements of the role include vendor engagement, Stakeholder coordination, cost management, planning functions, operational readiness, change management and health and safety.
This is a role where the ideal candidate couples their firsthand experience in Operations or Maintenance of Heavy Mining Equipment with a proven record of project management and delivery. You must be comfortable driving project outcomes to meet the schedule, and excited about the industry transition to green technologies and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document project scope and resource requirements
- Manage projects to ensure that all deliverables are on time, budget and within scope
- Create and manage risk and opportunity registers
- Manage projects across full lifecycle, or be able to provide resources to support specific project stages in support of another team member
- Coordinate stakeholders across several organisations, including OEM Vendors and Operations
- Use industry and operational knowledge to influence development projects and ensure products are fit for purpose
- Coordinate across mine planning, operations and maintenance teams to provide detailed operational requirements and voice of the customer documentation
- Operational Readiness activities including deployment of trial/prototype equipment to site to prove solutions
- Travel to Vendor locations and site on ad-hoc basis in support of development projects and
- Conduct project planning, monitoring, and reporting to assess project performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification in mechanical, electrical, mining or another relevant engineering discipline
- Complementary qualifications or demonstrated experience in project management or scheduling
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mining industries with HME equipment
- Experience in Design Development projects would be beneficial to candidates
- Trade qualifications with the right additional experience will also be considered.
