Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth or Site based - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (Perth based) OR 4D3R FIFO ex Perth (Site based)

As Senior Maintenance and Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in the reliability, integrity and performance of the generation, transmission and distribution network.
The role will be either Perth based or site-based working closely with site engineers, maintenance, operation and planners to provide site technical and systems support. This role will focus on maintenance strategy improvement through standardisation, data quality, planning optimisation and reliability insight across the energy operations infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of long-term electrical asset strategies and lifecycle plans.
- Provide technical authority for major electrical decisions and risk management.
- Oversee complex fault investigations and system-level failures.
- Define and govern maintenance standards, procedures, and engineering practices.
- Mentor and develop electrical engineers and graduates.
- Interface with projects to ensure maintainability and operability of new assets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (RCA, RCM, FMECA).
- Support capital planning and budgeting for electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and site electrical safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (8–15+ years industry experience)
- Experience in heavy industry (mining, oil & gas, processing plants)
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, protection, and control systems
- Strong CMMS/SAP experience
- Data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI)
- Ability to translate field problems into structured improvements
- Sound knowledge and experience with reliability methodologies (RCA, RCM, FMECA)
