Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
As Contracts & Procurement Senior Specialist, Mining Services and Autonomy, you will provide senior procurement advice and leadership across Fortescue’s Mining Services and Autonomy category. You will support stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage contract arrangements that deliver business objectives, while contributing to category strategy and strategic procurement activities across Fortescue’s mobile equipment categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contract management activities to maximise commercial benefit and minimise commercial risk.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers to deliver value and support business outcomes.
- Lead category management, strategic sourcing and end-to-end procurement processes aligned with Fortescue’s objectives.
- Lead negotiations for high-risk and high-value contracts, applying sound commercial judgement and an understanding of stakeholder and supplier positions.
- Apply critical thinking to procurement strategies and planning to improve time, cost, quality, consistency, efficiency and clarity.
- Ensure effective governance, compliance, risk management, analysis and reporting across the procurement lifecycle, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in a procurement role, with a strong understanding of procurement practices, governance and processes.
- Experience in autonomy or IT/software-related contracts is advantageous.
- A qualification in Law, Business or Commerce is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritise effectively and remain resilient in challenging circumstances.
- Demonstrated alignment with Fortescue’s vision and values, with the ability to contribute positively to the success of the role.
