An exciting opportunity exists within our Shutdown Delivery Team for a motivated and capable Shutdown Execution Lead. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the safe and efficient execution of shutdowns across Fortescue operations, working closely with site teams and contractors to deliver Fixed Plant Shutdowns.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with shutdown or maintenance experience who is ready to step into a leadership role and grow their career in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support shutdown schedule execution, including progress tracking, work-front coordination, and identifying potential risks
  • Monitor and escalate risks, scope changes, and schedule impacts to support delivery against the shutdown schedule
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across shutdown activities
  • Identify high-risk tasks and assist in resolving work-front conflicts to maintain safe and efficient progress
  • Build strong working relationships with vendors and site teams, acting as a key point of coordination during shutdowns
  • Coordinate contractor activities by communicating priorities, managing workflows, and ensuring quality outcomes

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ Years’ experience in fixed plant maintenance, Shutdowns, or a similar heavy industry environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work in a dynamic, fast-paced operational setting
  • Developing leadership capability, with the confidence to influence and guide contractors and peers
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to safety, with a clear commitment to health and safety standards
  • Exposure to shutdown planning or scheduling tools (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Project) - desirable
  • Statutory Supervisor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with digital systems and continuous improvement initiatives - desirable
