Specialist Approvals Planning

Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity exists for an Approvals Planning Specialist to join the Fortescue family and play a key role in supporting the company’s decarbonisation objectives and the delivery of future green iron ore mining projects across the Pilbara.

This role is ideal for a proactive approvals professional who thrives in complex project environments and is passionate about enabling sustainable energy and mining outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with internal stakeholders to identify and define project approvals requirements.

• Develop and implement approvals strategies that align with business objectives and project timelines.

• Coordinate the collation and preparation of approvals pathway advice.

• Prepare materials and facilitate approvals planning meetings and forums.

• Identify approvals schedule risks and mitigation strategies, monitoring the overall approvals risk profile.

• Ensure project information is accurate and current within the Integrated Approvals Schedule.

• Track, assess, and report on approvals progress and delivery status.

• Coordinate approvals reporting processes across projects.

• Foster a strong safety-first culture and maintain a working environment where safety is embedded in everything we do.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in preparing and obtaining approvals, or in the delivery of energy or mining projects and operations.

• Strong coordination and project management capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• A self-starter with a proactive, can-do attitude and demonstrated initiative.

• Experience using Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).

• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
