Specialist Approvals Planning
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
An exciting opportunity exists for an Approvals Planning Specialist to join the Fortescue family and play a key role in supporting the company’s decarbonisation objectives and the delivery of future green iron ore mining projects across the Pilbara.
This role is ideal for a proactive approvals professional who thrives in complex project environments and is passionate about enabling sustainable energy and mining outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with internal stakeholders to identify and define project approvals requirements.

Develop and implement approvals strategies that align with business objectives and project timelines.

Coordinate the collation and preparation of approvals pathway advice.

Prepare materials and facilitate approvals planning meetings and forums.

Identify approvals schedule risks and mitigation strategies, monitoring the overall approvals risk profile.

Ensure project information is accurate and current within the Integrated Approvals Schedule.

Track, assess, and report on approvals progress and delivery status.

Coordinate approvals reporting processes across projects.

Foster a strong safety-first culture and maintain a working environment where safety is embedded in everything we do.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in preparing and obtaining approvals, or in the delivery of energy or mining projects and operations.

Strong coordination and project management capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

A self-starter with a proactive, can-do attitude and demonstrated initiative.

Experience using Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
