Specialist Process Engineer

Location: Cloudbreak – located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples
Roster: 4D3R8D6R FIFO ex Perth
We’re looking for a Specialist Process Engineer to provide technical leadership and governance across the Cloudbreak operations.
In this role, you’ll act as the subject matter expert for process engineering requirements across site capital projects, major growth initiatives and continuous improvement programs, including autonomy development. You’ll play a key role in ensuring process design integrity, operational readiness and long-term asset performance.
You’ll also identify, develop and deliver process improvement initiatives across the Cloudbreak OPF. Driving optimisation in throughput, operating time, yield and product quality to support delivery of the mine plan.
This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise and improvement mindset will directly influence operational performance and project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Process Engineering team, driving consistency and high standards across the technical program of work
- Coach and support Operations and Maintenance teams to optimise plant performance, throughput and product quality
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and contribute to a strong safety culture through field engagement and safety improvement initiatives
- Monitor and analyse plant performance, leading investigations and implementing solutions to improve quality, yield and availability
- Collaborate with Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, Quality and Geometallurgy teams to maximise throughput and product outcomes aligned to the mine plan
- Identify, scope and deliver business improvement initiatives to optimise OPEX and CAPEX across Engineering and Operations
- Provide process engineering input into site and capital projects, including managing trials and supporting the capital lifecycle
- Plan and support shutdown activities and drive continuous improvement of engineering work practices and standard procedures
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in mineral processing within an operational or technical environment (consultancy/EPCM experience desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical, Process or Metallurgical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong knowledge of dry and wet mineral processing unit operations, ideally within iron ore
- Experience in metallurgical testing, laboratory processes and plant performance analysis
- Demonstrated experience working within process plant operations in a mining environment
- Strong data analysis and reporting capability, with high computer literacy
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic operational environment
- Familiarity with SAP, delay accounting systems, SCADA and/or PLC programming (desirable)
