Location: Christmas Creek - located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people 

 

Roster: 14D14R FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Fitzroy Crossing, Port Hedland, Kununurra & Karratha 

 

The Structural Integrity Fabricator plays an important role in the safe and efficient delivery of structural maintenance activities across the fixed plant. Working as part of the Structural Integrity team, this role is hands-on and focused on completing structural repairs, modifications, and remediation work in line with approved work scopes and standards. The position contributes directly to maintaining the structural integrity and reliability of Fortescue assets and requires a safety-focused tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and teamwork in the field.

Key Responsibilities

.

  • Demonstrate and promote safe behaviours, ensuring all work is completed in line with HSE expectations and statutory requirements
  • Complete the execution of structural maintenance and repair works across the fixed plant
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within scope, to the required standard, and closed out with accurate and compliant documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to structural integrity, quality, and work practices
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure safe, timely and reliable execution of works

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder alongsidee experience within fixed plant or construction (essential)
  • Ability to weld in accordance with AS1554 welding procedures
  • Proven commitment to safety, with a strong understanding of safe work practices and risk management principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including SAP, Microsoft Office Suite and digital reporting systems (essential)
  • Willingness to work hands-on in the field, providing direction and applying trade knowledge
  • Experience in fixed plant structural maintenance or similar heavy industry environment (desirable)
