Location: Christmas Creek – located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people
Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra.
Join Fortescue’s Christmas Creek team as a Mining Supervisor, reporting to the Mining Superintendent. This role is responsible for leading safe and efficient Load & Haul operations in an open-pit mining environment. You will supervise frontline crews, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and deliver productivity targets while supporting the development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Role model and champion Fortescue’s strong safety culture, supporting a zero-harm and safe workplace
- Lead day-to-day mining operations to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes
- Support, coach and mentor team members, encouraging capability development and career progression
- Conduct regular pit inspections to ensure operational standards, compliance and safe work practices are maintained
- Investigate and report incidents with a focus on learning, improvement and prevention
- Monitor and optimise fleet utilisation to achieve productivity, safety and operational targets
- Drive the adoption of Fortescue’s green energy and sustainability initiatives on site, fostering team ownership and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a supervisory role within mining operations
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to build trust, engage teams and encourage collaboration
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and mining-related systems
- Understanding of efficiency drivers in large-scale Autonomous mining operations
- Section 26 Qualification required
