Our Opportunity
Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra
Join Fortescue’s Cloudbreak team as a Mining Supervisor, reporting to the Mining Superintendent. This is an opportunity to lead and develop one of the safest and most productive Load & Haul teams in open-pit mining. We are seeking a dynamic and safety-focused leader with strong technical capability and a passion for building high-performing teams that consistently deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Fortescue’s safety values and foster a zero-harm culture across all mining activities.
- Lead daily mining operations to deliver safe, efficient and productive outcomes.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, driving capability and performance.
- Conduct regular pit inspections to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.
- Investigate incidents and hazards, implementing corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
- Monitor and optimise fleet utilisation to achieve or exceed production, safety and cost targets.
- Build strong working relationships across operational and support teams to deliver business objectives.
- Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement within the crew.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in a supervisory role within open-pit mining operations.
- Proven leadership capability with the ability to engage, develop and empower diverse teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining-related systems.
- Sound understanding of the key drivers of performance in large-scale autonomous mining operations with Cat MineStar experience highly regarded.
- Current Section 26 qualification.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
