Our Opportunity

Work Location: Eliwana  

 

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people (PKKP), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price. With Solomon mine, Eliwana forms Fortescue’s Western Hub providing a standalone and complimentary product with Fortescue’s Chichester Hub. 

 

Roster:  7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO ex. Perth and Busselton 

 

Reporting to the department superintendent, your role is critical to the success and culture of the mobile maintenance department.  

This position offers a key leadership role for Fortescue’s Eliwana’s Mobile Maintenance team, responsible for leading and mentoring a team of trades-based personnel to safely deliver world class fleet availability and reliability.   

You will establish and maintain a workplace culture lead by our values and willingly adapt to innovative technology and learn new disciplines to consistently promote excellence through application of values and visual leadership.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a diverse workforce. 
  • Maintain fleet availability and reliability above KPI targets. 
  • Fleet consists of Caterpillar equipment inclusive of Loaders, Graders & Dozers
  • Review and conduct weekly plan of service and backlog repairs. 
  • Maintain maintenance facilities to high standards of organisation and cleanliness. 
  • Ensure break down repairs are conducted safely and within timely manner. 
  • Ensure parts return process is followed. 
  • Adapting to innovative technologies  
  • Willingness to learn new disciplines and skills as part of Fortescue’s Green Fleet Transition. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
  • Statutory Supervisor Schedule 26
  • Supervisory experience in large fleet mobile maintenance on a mine site, preferably with CAT and Liebherr equipment 
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop diverse teams, especially in environments embracing change and innovation.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance activities (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of Mines Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and other relevant regulations.
  • Understanding of HR/IR practices, including career path development.
  • Ability to conduct thorough quality risk assessments.
