Work Location: Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 8D/6R, 7N/7R FIDO ex Perth

 

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient and compliant execution of warehouse and logistics activities across site operations. Acting as a frontline leader and Statutory Supervisor under Stat 26, the role is accountable for maintaining high standards across safety, inventory integrity, people leadership, operational performance and continuous improvement.

 

Working closely with operational, maintenance and logistics teams, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring warehouse activities support business continuity and operational readiness. The position provides leadership and direction to warehouse personnel, drives compliance with statutory and company requirements, and promotes Fortescue’s values through strong safety leadership, collaboration and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, issuing, staging, delivery and disposal of materials to support operational requirements
  • Maintain safe and compliant warehouse practices, ensuring critical controls, inspections, FLIs, PTOs and workplace audits are completed effectively
  • Oversee inventory management activities including stock transactions, cycle counts, reconciliations and ERP/WMS data accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations under Stat 26, including workforce competence, authorisations and supervision requirements
  • Coordinate and manage warehouse equipment, forklifts, lifting devices, vehicles and mobile plant, including maintenance scheduling and compliance activities
  • Lead incident response, hazard management and corrective action processes in accordance with Fortescue safety standards and reporting requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes, workflows, inventory management and operational efficiency
  • Provide frontline leadership through coaching, performance management, workforce planning and development of warehouse personnel
  • Manage contractor mobilisation, inductions and compliance activities to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Support operational readiness through effective roster coordination, shift handovers, workload allocation and delivery performance

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum three years’ experience in warehouse operations and/or leadership within a mining, logistics or heavy industry environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading frontline teams in a high-risk operational environment
  • Sound understanding of warehouse management systems, SAP/Fiori or similar ERP platforms
  • HRW Forklift Licence and VOC for forklifts and/or telehandlers
  • Current HR Driver’s Licence
  • Stat 26 DEMIRS compliance or ability to obtain statutory appointment requirements
  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems, hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation processes
  • Experience managing inventory control, cycle counting, materials handling and logistics coordination activities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead, coach and influence teams effectively
  • High level of organisational capability, computer literacy and ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously
