The Project Delivery Coordinator – Communications Infrastructure is responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient and reliable site execution of communications infrastructure projects across Fortescue’s Metals operations.

 

Working across operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, engineering, construction, HSE and project teams, this role ensures project activities are delivered in line with approved scope, schedule, quality, commissioning and handover requirements.

 

The position supports brownfield and greenfield mine expansion projects across a range of operational technology and communications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead by example and ensure project activities are planned and executed in accordance with Fortescue safety requirements, site standards and critical risk controls.
  • Coordinate the safe and efficient site delivery of communications infrastructure projects across Fortescue’s Metals operations.
  • Act as the key site-based coordination point between operations, maintenance, project management, engineering, construction, HSE, contractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate contractor mobilisation, site access, inductions, work readiness and daily performance.
  • Translate project plans and schedules into executable daily and weekly work fronts.
  • Coordinate delivery across civil works, tower construction, shelters, power systems, microwave, LTE, Wi-Fi, TETRA, CCTV and related operational technology infrastructure.
  • Support project schedules, work packs, permits, risk controls, quality inspections, commissioning activities and handover requirements.
  • Work with operations, maintenance, engineering and contractor partners to ensure assets are ready for safe and reliable operation.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, controlled and available for commissioning, operational readiness and closeout.
  • Identify and escalate contractor performance issues, delays, variations, execution risks or scope gaps with appropriate recommended actions.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Experience coordinating project execution within mining, construction, telecommunications, technology, infrastructure or industrial environments.
  • Site-based delivery experience in remote operations, ideally within an iron ore production environment.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors and multi-discipline work fronts.
  • Exposure to communications infrastructure including towers, shelters, power systems, radio, wireless, network or backhaul technologies.
  • Working knowledge of project delivery, construction execution, site coordination, safe work systems, permits and risk assessment processes.
  • Experience supporting schedules, work packs, quality checks, commissioning activities, handover documentation and operational readiness.
  • Strong site leadership, planning, prioritisation, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to identify execution risks early, manage competing site priorities and maintain alignment with broader project milestones.
  • Trade, technical, engineering, construction management, telecommunications or project management qualification preferred, with project management training or certification desirable.
  • Schedule 26 training completed; relevant site-based licences or qualifications and telecommunications, network infrastructure or operational technology certifications are advantageous.
