Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: FIFO – Eliwana and Christmas Creek

 

Roster: 4 Days on /3 Days off   - 18 month fixed term contract

 

This is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in Fortescue’s decarbonisation journey, supporting the safe introduction of new electrical assets and equipment into our operations.

 

As Trainer Assessor – Decarb, you will work across both Training and Test & Performance, helping prepare operators and maintainers to safely work with new fleet and associated equipment. This is a unique role that combines field-based training and competency assessment with readiness support during asset testing, validation and operational deployment.

 

You will help ensure training, procedures and competency requirements are practical, fit for purpose and aligned to operational needs as new technology is introduced across site.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver field-based operations and maintenance training for electrical fleet, associated equipment and related work practices
  • Coordinate and conduct competency assessments, including VoCs, authorisations and refresher activities
  • Support site training teams with coaching, guidance and uplift in training delivery and assessment requirements
  • Manage train-the-trainer and first-person competent processes for electrical equipment and work practices
  • Work closely with the Test & Performance team to translate commissioning and validation learnings into training updates, procedures and job aids
  • Maintain training readiness visibility for operators and maintainers to support mobilisation and deployment planning
  • Support training coordination across sites and rosters

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Operational experience on heavy mobile equipment, with the ability to coach safe work practices in the field
  • Experience delivering competency-based training and assessment in a mining environment
  • Exposure to new equipment introduction, commissioning or operational readiness programs will be highly regarded
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A practical mindset, strong attention to detail and confidence working across site-based teams
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
