Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak – Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
Deliver accredited TAFE training in Certificate III Mobile Plant Equipment and Certificate II Servicing to apprentices and pre-apprentices. You will also develop, validate and moderate Training Assessment Plans (TAPs), Training Assessment Strategies (TASs), and learning and resource materials.
Working with other lecturers, you will develop, deliver and assess accredited units of competency in both qualifications, and record the results. The ideal candidate is highly organised, has strong RTO training development and delivery skills, and has experience in an apprenticeship, traineeship or accredited training environment. You will also be willing to undertake Battery Electric training, with the possibility of delivering Battery Electrical units in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Trade Training Centre, including reviewing and updating processes and procedures and general facility maintenance.
- Design, develop, validate and moderate Training Assessment Plans (TAPs), Training Assessment Strategies (TASs), assessments, and learning and resource materials, including for future qualifications being implemented, and record results.
- Ensure the Training Delivery Schedule is available at least 12 months before training begins and is approved by the Superintendent Trade Apprenticeships. The schedule must include delivery details and attendees.
- Assist with comprehensive workshop and apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship inductions and familiarisations.
- Deliver professional development courses relevant to trades for Fortescue employees to help upskill the internal workforce.
- Undertake audits and safety processes as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualification with a Certificate III in Heavy Mobile Equipment, or a Certificate III in Automotive Electrical (highly desirable).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), Forklift, Dogging and Overhead Crane qualifications.
- Proven experience in a similar-level position in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience developing and delivering accredited training and working in accordance with the ASQA/TAC/RTO framework.
- Experience managing training workshops day to day, including supervising and mentoring teams of 10 or more.
- Experience working for or with an RTO.
