We are seeking an experienced Water Well Drilling Offsider to join our team. This hands-on, outdoor role supports drill rig operations, including operating mobile plant in line with OEM and company procedures, maintaining equipment and vehicles, monitoring consumables, and actively participating in safety and toolbox meetings.

 

Maintaining a safe, clean drilling area and following safe work instructions are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate drill rig support (mobile plant) equipment in line with manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Fortescue procedures, with training and support provided.

  • Proactively monitor consumables and supplies, identifying when reordering is required to support continuous rig operations.

  • Actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to promote a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace for all team members.

  • Maintain and operate vehicles, tools and equipment to company standards to support safe and reliable operations.

  • Carry out general site duties, including maintaining a clean and organised drilling area, identifying and mitigating hazards, and following all drilling Safe Work Instructions (SWIs).

  • Engage in water well drilling industry pathway training and development opportunities to build skills and support career progression.

  • Undertake manual and hands-on tasks in an outdoor environment, working collaboratively within a diverse team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current HR-B Driver’s Licence.

  • Current LF High Risk Work Licence.

  • Current First Aid certification.

  • Operate and Maintain a Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle certification.

  • Certificate II in Drilling (or willingness to obtain).

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and strong safety awareness.

  • Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently.

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience on water well drill rigs, or at least 12 months’ experience in another drilling discipline.
