Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Community Office located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: Monday - Friday - Residential
Fortescue is seeking a Community Advisor to support the delivery of community engagement, stakeholder relations and social investment activities across the Pilbara.
Based residentially in Port Hedland, this role will work closely with local communities, stakeholders and internal teams to coordinate engagement activities, community partnerships, events and stakeholder interactions that support Fortescue's operational and community priorities.
The successful candidate will have experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or a similar field, with strong relationship-building, communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of Fortescue’s community engagement and stakeholder relations activities across the Pilbara region.
- Coordinate and support implementation of approved community partnerships, sponsorships and social investment initiatives.
- Support the planning and logistics for site-based community engagements, stakeholder visits, events and activities.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with community organisations, local stakeholders and service providers.
- Support development and implementation of Community Engagement Plans for Fortescue sites and operational activities.
- Provide coordination and administrative support to Fortescue teams regarding community and stakeholder activities, in alignment with Fortescue’s Community Development Plan and approved engagement priorities.
- Represent Fortescue at community events, meetings and stakeholder engagements as required. This includes occasional evening and weekend events.
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder engagement activities, interactions and community initiatives.
- Assist with preparation of briefing notes, reports, presentations and engagement materials.
- Support identification of emerging community issues, risks and opportunities and escalate appropriately to senior team members.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualifications in Community Development, Stakeholder Relations, Communications, Social Impact or a related field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting delivery of stakeholder engagement activities, community programs or events.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to engage respectfully and professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports, communication materials and briefing notes.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a broader team environment and follow established governance and engagement processes.
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability and problem-solving capability.
- A valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
