Location: Port Hedland Operations
Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off Residential Port Hedland

Fortescue is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Condition Monitoring Team at Port Hedland in an entry-level condition monitoring role.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical or electrical background who is looking to build a career in asset reliability and condition monitoring. You will receive on-the-job training, mentoring and exposure to a range of condition monitoring techniques while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive team environment.
This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a mechanical or electrical background who is looking to build a career in asset reliability. You will support condition monitoring activities across critical Port Hedland fixed plant and materials handling assets, identifying reliability issues and early indicators of failure to help extend asset life and reduce unplanned downtime.
You will be supported through on-the-job training and mentoring while working alongside experienced Condition Monitoring and Reliability professionals in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with condition monitoring inspections across fixed plant equipment, including vibration analysis, thermography, acoustic and lubrication-related activities.
- Collect, record and help analyse condition monitoring data under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support the preparation of reports and communicate findings to maintenance and operations teams.
- Assist with investigations and basic root cause analysis activities as required.
- Maintain and update condition monitoring databases such as MHM (Machinery Health Manager), AHM (Asset Health Manager), ALS Webtrieve, and SAP.
- Support the installation and basic maintenance of remote and wireless vibration monitoring systems.
- Work safely at all times and contribute positively to Fortescue’s strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Mechanical trade or tertiary qualification (essential)
- Previous exposure to vibration analysis, thermography or lubrication (essential)
- Category 1 Vibration Analysis certification with a sound knowledge and experience in VA techniques (essential)
- Ultrasonic (acoustic) emission certification and experience (advantageous).
- Thermography Cat 1 certification and experience (advantageous).
- Interest in condition monitoring, asset reliability or maintenance engineering
- Willingness to obtain relevant certifications (training and support provided)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from others
- A proactive, team-focused attitude and commitment to working safely and respectfully
