Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations, located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people

 

Roster: 4 Days / 4 Nights / 8 Off – FIFO from Perth or Residential in Port Hedland

 

Fortescue is seeking a motivated Scheduler – Marine Operations to support marine and shipping scheduling activities across our Port Hedland operations.

Reporting to the Marine Operations Supervisor, this role supports the planning and coordination of vessel movements, berth allocation and marine services to enable safe, efficient and compliant port operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including Pilbara Ports Authority, marine service providers, vessel masters and agents in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with external stakeholders to optimise daily Schedules
  • Monitoring Ship loading and coordinating schedule amendments when necessary to enhance terminal efficiency and ensure vessel safety.
  • Previous Marine experience favourable, with understanding of Terminal Shipping and/ or Towage operations
  • Understanding of Pilbara Ports Marine Procedures and Guidelines
  • Updating Marine procedures as necessary.
  • Recording statistical data, and end of month reporting
  • Identify optimisation and improvement ideas to streamline processes
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment Policies, participating in company training and safety initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MSIC Card (preferred or be eligible to obtain)
  • A current Drivers License (C Class)
  • Logistics, Scheduling or Marine experience desirable
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with a broad range of stakeholder
