Senior Scheduler - Marine Operations
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R – Residential - Port Hedland
Fortescue is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Scheduler to lead marine and shipping scheduling across our Port Hedland operations.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for optimising vessel movements, berth allocation and marine services to ensure safe, efficient and compliant port operations. You’ll lead a team of Marine Schedulers and work closely with internal stakeholders, Pilbara Ports Authority, marine contractors, vessel masters and agents in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end marine and shipping scheduling across port operations
- Develop and manage short to medium-term vessel schedules
- Coordinate with port authorities VTSO, towage and marine service providers
- Ability to provide coverage for the marine scheduling function when required
- Manage schedule integrity, disruptions, delays and operational constraints
- Drive performance improvement across vessel turnaround and berth utilisation
- Champion safety, compliance and risk-based decision-making
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in marine, towage or shipping scheduling (bulk commodities preferred)
- Proven people leadership and stakeholder coordination skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of berth allocation, tidal windows and port constraints
- Ability to make time-critical decisions in a 24/7 operational environment
- MSIC (or ability to obtain) and C Class driver’s licence
