Roster: 8 Days on / 6 days off – FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Track Engineer to join our high-performing team on a 8 Days on / 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Track Engineer, you will:

  • Development and implementation of new and existing procedures and standards along with the implementation of heavy haul railway best practice.
  • Sustain key engineering and reliability systems and processes to support continuous improvement with safe, cost-effective, asset reliability and defect elimination.
  • Prepare long term re-railing and renewal plans to support capital projects.
  • Lead OEE and defect elimination meetings and provide insight into operational delays and develop actions to minimize operational impacts.

  • Review track asset health and GPR reports, perform analysis on track geometry & IOC response and coordinate system remediation.
  • Manage and support Fortescue's contracting partners.
  • Providing specialist engineering solutions and strategies across a wide range of asset types and life cycles to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
  • Lead small to large-scale engineering investigations and/ or studies. This will include major maintenance activities, failure investigations (Root Cause Analysis), reliability reviews, rectification and upgrade works.
  • Identify, assess and manage operational risks.
  • Responding to technical queries from other business operations.
  • Monitoring Asset Management KPI's, identify gaps in performance and implement actions.
  • Coaching undergraduate/graduate engineers.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A tertiary Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Track Engineering
  • Strong experience in contractor management, asset management, and condition monitoring. (track geometry, IOC, grinding etc.)
  • Proficiency in SAP, SQL and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize in a dynamic operational environment
  • A genuine commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, influence and mentor within the engineering community
