Supervisor Mechanical Maintenance

Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 8D/6R/7N/7R -  FIFO ex Perth or Port Hedland Residential.

 

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, this position plays a key role within our Port Mechanical team. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support across all aspects of mechanical maintenance, helping drive safe, reliable and efficient fixed plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee maintenance strategies, systems and repair activities to improve the reliability and availability of plant, structures and equipment.
  • Provide leadership and direction to mechanical maintainers, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with the work schedule.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled and resourced.
  • Embed safe work practices and promote a strong safety-focused culture across all maintenance activities.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and troubleshoot fixed plant machinery and equipment in line with site requirements.
  • Coordinate and support scheduled maintenance execution to achieve operational and maintenance objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in mechanical fixed plant maintenance, ideally within mining, resources, port or heavy industry environments.
  • Engineering or relevant trade qualification is essential; significant conveyor maintenance or fixed plant experience will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability within high-intensity maintenance or operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of computerised maintenance management and planning systems, including SAP and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience developing quality risk assessments and safety documentation, including CRAWs, JHAs and SWMS.
  • Strong communication, time management and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach and demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm.
