Our Opportunity
Location: San Francisco Bay Area,
Eligibility: Applicants must hold existing working rights in the US, we cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position.
This is a senior field applications engineering role requiring experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This person will facilitate the successful integration of Elysia battery management software in complex customer applications, particularly those related to grid storage and renewable energy.
This person will act as a bridge between customers and internal teams: they will manage and nurture the customer relationship, develop technical solutions for customers, and aid in internal product design and development as a customer advocate within Elysia.
The field applications engineer must combine robust technical skills with strong emotional intelligence to help customers achieve their goals while strengthening their relationship with Elysia.
Having experience in BESS, the Senior FAE will be expected to serve as a technical mentor and role-model within our field applications team, a close collaborator with our product team, and a key stakeholder in our product planning and decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage customer relationships with Elysia, serving as a primary point of contact from the end of the sales phase and into active technical engagements.
• Develop a thorough technical understanding of specific customer applications.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure products and services are delivered to customers on schedule and at quality.
• Guide and mentor customers as they adopt Elysia products, helping them maximize the value of Elysia software when integrated in their applications.
• Provide direct technical support to customers when they encounter difficulty.
• Create technical solutions for customers, such as data analyses, testing plans, or documentation.
• Develop internal software solutions as needed to facilitate analysis, simulation and deployment of our product.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of customer needs across the industry, and drive Elysia product development by identifying product gaps and advocating on behalf of our customers internally.
• Directly participate in Elysia product planning and development process.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelors' degree in technical subject or equivalent proficiency.
• At least two years of experience in BESS design, deployment, software control/SCADA systems, or integration.
• Solid understanding of battery, Battery Management System (BMS) and Energy Management System (EMS) operation, particularly for Lithium-ion chemistries.
• Strong emotional intelligence that enables relationship building with customers of all kinds.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail and quality in work output.
• Willingness to travel to meet customers in-person.
• Customer facing experience in technical support, training, sales support, and/or presentations.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
• Previous experience in an FAE role.
• Python programming experience.
