Employment engagement: Expatriate Hire, Residential Status (Single or Family)

Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off

Reporting to Principal Security Advisor, Corporate Security, the Senior Security Lead is responsible for providing security advice to in-country management and overseeing the implementation of security measures across Ivindo Iron’s facilities in Gabon under the direction of Corporate Security.You will be required to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including community relations, health and safety, operations, security contractors, and public security.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising and supporting the Libreville management team with regard to all security-related matters
• Understudying and replacing the Principal Security Advisor in his absence
• Monitoring security contractor performance
• Conducting regular, structured meetings with public security in accordance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) and coordinating public security support
• Preparing security risk assessments and identifying appropriate and cost-effective controls
• Monitoring the security situation, identifying trends, and providing advice to personnel
• Drafting security plans and procedures in accordance with approved templates
• Coordinating security support for VIP visits
• Preparing and submitting routine reports in a timely manner
• Conducting security surveys of Fortescue Belinga facilities
• Advising the Incident Controller on responses to security emergencies
• Leading the analysis of security incidents and identifying appropriate remedial actions
• Providing security briefings and training to Fortescue Belinga personnel and operational partners and promoting a positive security culture

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications 

• Security vocational training.
• Tertiary qualifications in security risk management or a related discipline are highly desirable

Skills

• Fluency in French and English, with good written and oral communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
• Good planning and organising skills: sets goals, identifies priorities, adjusts priorities as required, and uses time efficiently
• Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise documents, including risk assessments, security plans and procedures
• Meet requirements for a work permit under Gabonese employment legislation, including stipulations for industry age brackets.

Experience 

• At least 7 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in security operations in the resources industry or other international organisation.
